  • Currently available:
    • "Midnight" -- Male, black and white, bi-eyed, 6 to 8 years old, neutered.  Up to date on shots.  Great temperament.  Owner took him in for a friend, but already has 2 other dogs.  For more information, contact:  Adam Slick, 815-693-6786, slick2022@msn.com
    • "Apollo" -- Male, grey and white, blue eyes, 2 to 3 years old, neutered.  Healthy, has his inoculations, and is microchipped.  Heartworm negative and on a monthly preventative.  Apollo is an "alpha male".  It is clear that Apollo received little to no training from his original owners.  Since he has been in foster care, he has been crate trained.  Apollo knows the commands "sit" and "shake"; however, he is inconsistent with his responses to the commands.  Apollo also knows the command "come"; however, like most Siberians, he likes to be chased and to run away, turning it into a game.  His foster home has been working to correct his tendency to try to dominate other dogs, but he still has problems in this area.  While wearing the "Gentle Leader" head halter, and with assertive leadership from the human, Apollo is working on walking on a "loose leash" without pulling.  He has made progress with this no-pulling" goal.  Formerly, Apollo had a habit of jumping up on people, but has largely discontinued this behavior.  The foster home is working on him sitting (or laying down) while receiving affection.  He is doing fairly well with this goal.  Because of his size and inclinations, he would not be good with small children.  He needs a firm, consistent, pack leader in a human.  He has an affinity towards men.  Apollo would do best in a household as a single dog.  Like most Siberians, he has a strong and proven "prey instinct", so Apollo most certainly cannot be in a home in which there are or will be in the future, cats or other small animals.  He definitely does NOT do well with cats.  Foster home is in Winthrop Harbor, IL, and is willing to transport Apollo within the state and to neighboring states up to 30 hours of round trip travel.  For more information, contact:  Wendy and Sandy, wmmann7@gmail.com, 406-403-8445 [Cell]; 847-746-2314 [Home.]

  • Currently available:
    • "Sky" -- Female, mostly black, blue eyes, senior.  Fatty tumors, deaf and possibly diabetic.  Very laid back and sweet.  The posting party acquired her from a home that was condemned, along with 8 others.  She came in, covered in feces.  The dogs had been kept inside for two years.  She was a mess!  So, they shaved her.  ("Before" and "After" pictures are shown.)  They are a boarding, grooming and training facility and feel that a kennel is no place for a dog to live.  She is very sweet and they have really become attached to her.  She would make a wonderful companion for someone.  She is good with dogs, cats and kids.  For more information, contact:  Bre, 317-529-3556, bre@securek9.net

    • Two Siberians:
      • "Aspen" -- Female, black and white, blue eyes, 6 to 8 years old, spayed.  Good health, no issues.  Super loving, just very shy at first.  Very good with adults and kids!

      • "Denver" -- Male, black and white, blue eyes, 6 to 8 years old, neutered.  Good health, no issues.  Loving!  Denver has an amazing personality and loves to be around people.  He is very good with other dogs and kids of all ages.

Due to the owner's work schedule, he can't give them the time or attention they deserve.  Looking to find a loving and caring home to give them the attention they should be getting everyday.  For more information, contact:  Dustin Patton, 620-672-1504, Pattyesu@hotmail.com

    • "Ru" -- Female, silver and white, splashcoat, blue eyes, 18 months to 2 years old.  Very healthy, and has her rabies shots.  Like most Siberians, she is not good with small animals.  (This is another reason they shouldn't be off leash.)  She killed the neighbor's cat and now has to find a new home.  For more information, contact:  Kayla Poole, 785-438-8583, kaylapoole62@Yahoo.com
    • "Si" -- Male, pure white, blue eyes, 2 to 3 years old, neutered.  Excellent health.  Excellent temperament.  Very smart, eager to please.   Owner can no longer care for him.  For more information, contact:  620-952-1199, lookin_goood2000@yahoo.com

  • Currently available from other sources:
    • "Gretta" -- Female, coppery brown with tan and white, amber eyes, brown nose, 7.5 years old, spayed.  Great health, shots current, heartworm negative.  No temperament issues.  Gretta is a loving dog.  She has been a one-owner dog, without mates her whole life but plays well with other dogs. She is quite vocal in her play which can mislead one to think that she plays aggressively.  She does not.  She gets along with cats, but makes easy sport of raccoons, opossums, squirrels, and the like.  She is an excellent solution to mole ridden lawns, because, though she is not a digger, she can sense the movement of the rodent through the sod and with a single scoop of turf extract and eradicate the invader.  The sod scoop is as easily replaced as a golf divot and less noticeable.  She does not like you to mess with her food, but for some reason is not so fussy about other dogs wanting her food.  She is a pack animal and as such needs the company of people or fellow canines.  And she does need exercise, whether in the form of daily walks or routine play and interaction with other animals.  She is a goofball, loves to be chased around the yard and to play fetch.  Loves to be stalked and to stalk while playing, getting low to the ground in wait like a lion in tall grass, tearing-off when you "suddenly" notice her hiding around the bush or corner.  She doesn't normally escape, is not a digger (except when going after moles), and knows how to sit, lay down, and "be gentle".  Owner is moving to South Africa for a job, and am unable to bring Gretta due to time constraints and the logistics of relocating a pet to a new country.  He has had Gretta since she was a puppy, and she has been a constant companion.  He is quite sad about losing her.  For more information, contact:  Bryan Nowak, 616-897-6958, brynowak@gmail.com
    • "Misty" -- Female, pure white, blue eyes, 4 to 5 years old, spayed.  Has seizures, normally controllable with meds.  Good temperament.  Friendly with other animals, including cats.  The owner's husband is in the Air Force and she does not have time to care for the dog.  For more information, contact:  Jessica Elswick, jessica.elswick@hotmail.com
    • "Bailey" -- Female, black and white, ,brown eyes, 6 to 8 years old, neutered.  Healthy.  High energy.  Good around adults and older children, but protective of objects and food.  Owner has had a baby and Bailey is not good around young children.  For more information, contact:  Patti, 248-505-7755, pavrnak@aol.com
    • "Spade" -- Male, silver and white, bi-eyed, 4 to 5 years old, neutered.  Good health.  Friendly and good with kids and cats, don't know about other dogs.  His family is splitting up and the dog needs a better home with exercise and attention.  For more information, contact:  Paula, 231-313-7114, pse71@aol.com

  • Currently available:
    • "Miya" -- Female, pure white, blue eyes, 4 to 5 years old, spayed.  Aggressive if you want her to do something she doesn't want to do.  Usually good, very playful.  The problem is if she's lying down. blocking the door. and you try to get her to move she'll eventually move but lunge and bark.  The owners no longer trust her with their son and would like to find her a home, preferably with no children or cats.  Needs an owner experienced with difficult Siberians.  Indoor, crate trained, very energetic.  For more information, contact:  Marley, marleycook00@gmail.com
    • "Buddy" -- Male, black and white, brown eyes, 0 to 6 months old, neutered.  Healthy, has all immunizations.  Friendly with adults and children, but not cat friendly.  He was a gift to a grandson, but he lost interest, and the grandmother is too old to give him proper care.  For more information, contact: Marilyn Maune, 314-541-5688, 7127marilyn@gmail.com
