- "Maya" --
Female, black and white, blue eyes, 4 to 5 years old, spayed. Very healthy. Excellent temperament, loves to give kisses, loves to be petted. Owner has to place elsewhere because she, along with another dog, attacked the beagle living in the household. So, she probably would be best as an "only dog". For more information, contact: Diane Arnold, 404-372-9323, shadowgirlnow@yahoo.com
- "Wampa" --
Male MIX (husky/Chow), mostly black, amber eyes, 13 to 18 months old, neutered. Heartworm positive - On Heartgard now. Inquisitive, intelligent, medium energy, good with children. Would do best with doggie companion as long as properly introduced. Housetrained. Knows "sit","stay", and "down" commands. Not hyper, just needs a walk each day. Walks well on leash. Whines/barks at other dogs when on leash, but doesn't lunge. Very loving to everyone. Has been living as an indoor dog. Pulled from local animal control because he had no applications and was to be put down. Tested positive for heartworms, and EKG showed very mild/early stages (no effect on blood pressure or heart yet). (This dog will need to be treated at some point.) Fostered for 2 months now, and posting party has been working to make him a great house pet. He is ready for his permanent home. Adoption fee of $196 to cover his shots, neuter and chipping. Receipts will be presented to substantiate this fee. The rescuer is NOT a 501(c) rescue group. For more information, contact: Emily Hollomon, 478-475-4641, pinkya@uga.edu
- Two Siberians:
- "Lillie" --
Female, grey and white, blue eyes, 1 year and 1month old, not spayed. Great health. Lillie is a very sweet dog! She loves attention and talking! She is very good around kids and sweet around all animals and people. She loves running and hunts small mice. She is a great companion. She is also housebroken.
- "Maverick" -- Male, dilute black and white, brown eyes, 1 year and one month old, not neutered. Great health. Maverick is a great companion, he is very sweet. He is laid-back and quiet. He enjoys running and playing outside. He is very good around people, children, and other animals. He loves to be petted and loves attention. He can be content just chewing on a bone all day. He is also housebroken..
They absolutely must be given away as a pair! Owners just had a baby and had to move into an apartment for financial reasons and don't have enough space to give them the type of exercise they need. They are looking for a good home for her and her brother where they can be happy and well cared for. For more information, contact: Jennifer and Jason Lima, 706-221-0233, jennylo143@yahoo.com
- "Julian" (aka "Drexel") --
Male, pure white, blue eyes, 13 years old, not neutered. Great health, some arthritis in hips, but still very playful. Very friendly. He gets along great with children and other dogs. Has never bitten anyone, human or other animal. Needs a yard that is fenced in to run in. Does not like being penned up in a cage. Likes to take walks and is very happy with other huskies (hasn't really been around any other type of dog). Unfortunately, the owners are having to move to a condo where no dogs are allowed and after 13 years of owning this amazingly beautiful dog they are having to find either a very good home for him or have him put to sleep! They would rather him be with someone that appreciates him and his beauty and great nature. They regret dreadfully that they cannot take him along, but after a motorcycle accident they both lost their jobs and are now unable to hold on to their home. - "Max" --
Male, grey and white, hazel eyes, 2 to 3 years old, neutered. good health, but has only three legs. Good tempered, but not good with livestock. Knocks over small children. Good with other huskies or other large dogs, but chases small animals. Owners do not have appropriate fencing around their entire property, so Max lives in a fenced pen. He needs a larger fenced area or someone who will take him for walks on a leash, and maybe another large dog as a companion, no small animals or kids. They also are a small farm with chickens, turkeys and soon goats, and he has already killed several chickens that have gotten close to his pen. - Two Siberians, senior females. Dying man's last wish is that they not be separated, but placed in loving homes:
- "Nikki" --
Dark red and white, blue eyes, 11 years old. Spayed, current on shots. Housebroken, good with children.
- "Makayla" --
Black and white, blue eyes, 10 years old. Spayed, current on shots. Housebroken, good with children.
These dogs have never been apart the their dying owner is extremely upset about what might happen to them after his death. So far everyone just keeps suggesting they be euthanized. If you can provide them a good home, contact, Elaine O'Bannon,
678-715-8644. The posting party is AlanParlato@HumaneSocietyHoCo.org, but he may not be up-to-date on the situation.
- "Rainy" -- Female, black and white, splashcoat, blue eyes, 2 to 3 years old, spayed. Shots current. Sweet, but hyper. Needs room to run. Owner has too many animals to take care of. For more information, contact: Darleen, 404-433-3988, darleenterry@bellsouth.net
- "Champ" --
Male, black and white, brown eyes, 2 to 3 years old, not neutered. Health status unknown. (Posting party is NOT the dog's owner) Wonderfully happy to be petted. Loves kids but is so hyper from being penned in that he has a tendency to bowl over kids. LOVES the dogs belonging to the poster, but so hyper that they are
intimidated. Just needs exercise and love. His owners are a young couple, the husband is deployed with the military and the wife works and has 2 small children to care for after hours. The yard is not fully fenced in. Champ has no access to shade and he lives in the middle of Georgia. The posting party has befriended him and his owner. The owner has decided the dog needs a better life and asked for help in finding a new home for him. For more information, contact: Angie

- "Talon" --
Female, pure white, woolly coated, brown eyes, 2 to 3 years old, spayed. Has not been to the vet since the owner got her. Seems healthy. Extremely sweet, loving, and playful. Loves other dogs! Very
hungry for attention and love. Somewhat skittish due to her past history. Rescued from a couple that the owner used to consider friends. The story of abuse is horrific -- she was beaten, neglected, and SEVERELY traumatized. Her fear of men was deeply ingrained, especially tall men. The rescuer's male cousin (6 ft.) who lives with her terrified the dog in the beginning. For the first 2 months, she wouldn't let him near her, By the 3rd month she would let him pet her, but she
would shake. Her progress seemed so slow that it was feared she would never be able to be comfortable around men. However, she has come around! The cousin can walk her, love her, pet her. She even will let a male stranger pet her now. But of course, she still prefers ladies, and it is preferred that she go to a home with a female owner. Unfortunately, she might not be suitable with children. One day she was around 2 children age 3 & 4 and she nibbled on them.
Whenever she goes on walks she is especially interested in children. The owner is just not comfortable with how she would be around a child. She has 2 other dogs of her own already , and 3 has proven to be way too much for one person. The goal was to rehabilitate her and find her a home; she thinks she is finally ready.
